I don't know about you, but I could use a vacation. As a matter of fact, I could use about two or three vacations. As summer approaches, kids will be out of school and things likely will slow down at work; so, why not plan a trip?? As you plan this year's trip, you can accrue frequent flyer miles with your favorite airline to help you book future trips for almost nothing!
When you book air travel include your frequent flyer membership number with that airline (or if you forget, call customer service and give your frequent flyer number to get credited for flight miles when you return.) You must already be a member BEFORE you take your trip.
Many frequent flyer mileage programs have vacation options where you can get miles for booking travel through their respective vacation program. Whether it's a cruise you're after or a beach destination, going through your frequent flyer program's vacation site may be worth the while to obtain more mileage!
If you opt to book your vacation through other means, you can use hotels and rental cars to beef up your frequent flyer mileage account. There are always mileage offers via your frequent flyer program for hotels, rental cars, and of course, dining while on vacation (if doing so in the continental U.S.).
All this to say, planning a vacation no matter your price point is a great way to earn miles for your frequent flyer program. You can get miles every step of the way; booking air travel, rental cars, hotels, vacation planning, dining while on your trip, even shopping i.e.luggage and swimwear in anticipation of your trip. So not only do you get the rest and relaxation or a fun-filled adventure with your vacation, you'll rack up on frequent flyer miles.
