Here's the equation: You+Appetizers+Lunch+Drinks+Dessert=Miles
That's my kind of math! As of last Friday, I have accumulated 5,165 miles since January with the Aadvantage Dining Program. That's nothing to shake a stick at. I currently earn 5 miles for every dollar spent on dining (including tax and tip) with VIP status through the Dining Rewards Network. The miles add up quickly; especially when you register for bonus offers.
Initially, when you register for your dining rewards program, you will earn 3 miles per dollar spent (including tax and gratuity). You can obtain VIP status after 12 or more qualified transactions in a calendar year and get even more bonus opportunities. It's not hard to do. For one, the dining rewards program is nationwide. So no matter where you go, you're bound to find a participating restaurant. No matter your price point, restaurants that participate in the program range from dives and casual eateries to fine dining establishments offering all types of cuisine.
Visit the dining rewards website and familiarize yourself with participating restaurants near your job or home and cities you visit frequently. So, when a friend says, where do you want to go for lunch? You will have already done your homework, and can suggest a participating dining establishment near the office so you can not only enjoy your coworker's company, but get miles to boot!
The miles add up quickly, so be sure to register for your frequent flyer program's dining rewards program to earn miles the next time you don't feel like cooking or you forget to brown bag it. Yet one more opportunity to get airline miles without taking a single flight.
